Bluegrass boy makes you sing too.
Sad-smilin’ bluegrass with heart, humor, and real audience connection.
Jarkin Barsley delivers a bluegrass show that turns audiences into participants—blending heartfelt banjo songs, storytelling, and sing-along moments into a shared live experience.
At just 17, Daniel (Jarkin Barsley) is already performing 4–6 paid shows per month, with appearances at festivals, listening rooms, and high-traffic street performance settings. Rooted in Scruggs-style banjo, his performances balance musicianship with natural stage presence and genuine audience connection.
“You had us in the palm of your hand.” — Attendee, The Warm Friend
Daniel began on violin, piano, and trumpet before discovering the banjo at age 12. Through the Michigan Academy of Folk Music, he studied with Nate Roberts, performed in an ensemble for five years, and developed a strong foundation in improvisation and theory. He now studies with Greg Cahill (Special Consensus).
His background in theater (Students Onstage, dir. Jo Gray) informs a performance style that is engaging, dynamic, and built for the stage—not the background.
Jarkin Barsley’s mission is simple: create shows where people feel something, sing along, and leave lighter than they came.
